Education does not merely imply Teaching and Learning, it has a deeper implication. It is still considered as the means of developing the innate qualities of a person and preparing lives for Life. With this in mind, National Gems Higher Secondary School was started by our founding fathers Late Sri Ganesh Pd. Khanna and Late Sri Narayan Shaw. They envisioned a society where education was easily accessible to a child without any prejudice. They dreamt of a school where the children would be able to express themselves freely and be taught by teachers committed to the cause of sound value-based education.

Over the years, our school has made its presence felt in the academic circle of Kolkata. Today, it enjoys an excellent profile among the educational institutions of the city. Its performance in the ICSE and ISC examination has been exceedingly well. The flowers of creativity has blossomed in all fields. Co-curricular activities has become an integral part of our curriculum.

Various Inter – School and Intra – School Competition in the true spirit of camaraderie and participation.

No institution can be more ahead without the hard work, determination, dedication and support of its stalwarts. The members of the managing committee, the President, the Headmaster, the dedicated teaching and non – teaching staff work in complete unison and cohesion. The parents with their continuous encouragement and the ever – zealous students have contributed to make the school what it is in the present.

Each academic session ushers in new challenges and commitments. Each day is an enriching experience very fulfilling and satisfying. It is my firm belief that the candle of knowledge lit in a small four-roomed flat will continue to burn strongly and guide us to reach greater heights in future.
