The Science Club of our School consists of about 60 students from classes VII – XII. The members of the club meet every Friday for an interactive session on the recent development in the scientific world.

 
Aims and Objectives:

 

·         The goal of our Club is to develop leadership, responsibility and scientific awareness for middle  and senior school students.

·         To help students to develop problem solving abilities.

·         To inculcate a scientific temperament.

·         To develop rational approach.

·         To increase inquisitiveness.

·         To promote activity based education.

·         In addition to having experiences that help them build confidence in their Mathematics and Science skills.

 

Intra – School Activities:

 

The students meet on a weekly basis, and carry out preparation for science related activities, chart and model making and also learn how to demonstrate their models. The students work throughout the year  for the Science Exhibition which is held annually. Some of the models made by the students for the Science Department are as follows :

 
Biology and Ev. Ed Models :

 

·              Structure of DNA.

·              Structure of Bacteriophage.

·              Rain water harvesting.

·              Model showing the working principal of ‘Solar cooker’.

·              Model showing river side ecosystem.

·              Model showing effect of industrialization on rural environment.

Physics Models :

·                        Model of a lift.

·                        Model of circuit breaker.

·                        Model of burglar alarm system.

·                        Model of Light sensor.

·                        Model showing the repulsive and attractive

·                        Model of an automatic door made by using e-waste.

·                        Model of a periscope.

·                        Model of artificial fan made from broken tape recorder.

·                         Computer games developed by students.

Geography Models :

·                        Model showing generation of hydroelectric power.

·                         Model showing the interior of the earth.

·                         Model showing the different stages of the river – ‘The Young stage’, The ‘Middle Stage’ and the ‘Stage of Maturity’.

·                         Model of volcanoes.

·                         Model of desert landscape showing effects of wind erosion.

·                         Model of different climatic zones.

·                         Habitat of the Eskimos.

Chemistry Models  :

·                         Model of Chemical Volcano.

·                         Making curd in laboratory using silver chloride.

Inter – School Activities:

·                Students participated at ‘Quanta’ , held at City Montessori , Lucknow.

·                        ‘Bosco Gizmo’ at Don Bosco,Liluah.
