The NCC Army Wing for girls was started in National Gems Higher Secondary School in the year 2003, under 2 Bengal Girls’ BN NCC, New Alipore. In 2003 only 16 girls enrolled themselves in the Army Wing. The discipline, self confidence and smart turn out in the NCC uniform of the girl cadets encouraged many more girls to enroll themselves in the NCC. At the moment there are 50 girl cadets in the NCC Army Wing.

Girls attending distant camps were inhibitive for the conservative mindset of the parents. But over the years there is appreciation among the parents for the role that NCC plays in bringing out self-sufficiency in the girl cadets. Our school has made distinct headway in NCC activities.

The NCC Air Wing has 80 boy and 20 girl cadets. It was started in the year 2003 under 4 Bengal Air (T) NCC of Kolkata ‘B’ West Bengal and Sikkim Directorate.
