Jhankar: The Eastern Dancing Club
The Eastern Dancing Club is called “Jhankar”.
Here the students are taught different types
of
classical dance forms along with Folk and Creative dance forms. At
present, we have near about 120 students in the club. Including
middle and senior school students.
Aims and Objectives:
· To inculcate concepts of classical dance forms within the students.
· To teach them contemporary Indian dance forms.
Internal Training:
· In this club, training on different forms of Eastern Classical, Fashion, Creative, Folk and other dance forms are given under the guidance of eminent dance teachers.
· Rabindranritya forms an integral part of the training, besides folk dances.
KARUKRIT
Art is an endless journey of creativity and emotions aroused in the mind of an artist. Karukrit or Art Club features works that capture slices of life in all its myriad colours and moods. The drawings and paintings of the young students of the club reflect diverse styles and scales. This club aims at bringing forth the hidden talents and imaginative does of the student which helps in all round development of personality at all level (classes V-XII).
In the month of August the four house of school will be taking part in Inter house painting or collage competition. Students are involved in drawing or painting which includes-pastel colours, poster colours painting, spray-thread-thumb printing, blow painting etc. Craft works also goes hand in hand which includes, wax-clay models, pot painting, glass painting, wall hanging objects made out of wastes items, origami, flowers. Party hats, ribbon weaving, knitting, Lie and dye, needle work especially for girls are also included. Workshops on Art and Craft are also held. Children are encouraged to take part in 'Inter School' competition held in other part of city. Last year our students were proud winners of 'Camlin Sit and draw’ Competition-(July) 'Hyundai' poster colour competition. ‘Lion‘s children park ' –for T. shirt and collage Competition (August).

Talents are innumerable. It is upon us to discover them and nurture them so they can shine to their full glow.
The Eastern Dancing Club "Jhankar" taught different types of Classical dance forms along with Folk and creative dance forms. The students are trained under the guidance of eminent choreographer "Amrit Khatua." Students lake active part in various programmes conducted by the school like May Day, Rabindra Jayanti, Teachers Day Prize Distribution Ceremony and so on.
Students take part in Inter-House events which are grouped into two major categories –Eastern Duet and Group.
Parents of the participants were also invited to watch the performances of their wards and appreciate their talents.

Western dancing club --- rhythm Devine
‘Rhythm Divine' the western dancing club is firmly fixing its root in the school with almost a hundred budding dancers within its grip. The club takes an active role in teaching the various dance forms like Rock-n'-Roll, Jazz, Ballet, Jive, Hip-hop and Fusion.
The students are trained under the guidance of an eminent western dance teacher Mr. Suvankar Roychoudhury. Students actively participate in various programmes conducted by the school like Anuual Prize Day, Topical Quiz, Inter House Fests and many more. They are also encouraged to participate in various inter school events.
