Creative expression and approach forms the foundation of all individuals’ field of imagination. “Illuminati” – the Creative Writing Club of our school endeavours to harness the hidden abilities of students and transform them into “illuminated” talents. Each Friday, a group of about 60 students gather religiously in the library to exchange ideas and express themselves through the rich embroidery of words.
Aims and Objectives:
· Inculcate the habit of reading various articles not only in English but also in other vernacular languages.
· Introducing students to contemporary Indian writers.
· To encourage students to write poems, essays, stories and the like.
· To entice more students to participate in literary competitions and thereby enkindle their imaginary afflatus.
CREATIVE WRITING CLUB – ILLUMINATI:
The Creative Writing Club, Illuminati of National Gems Higher Secondary School believes in the encouragement of the dreams and imaginings of students, who are permitted emotional expression in order that they may be taught to discipline their emotions. Therefore, Illuminati encourage its club members/students to get involved in extra-curricular writing based activities such as inter-house creative wiriting competitions, Albert Barrow Creative Writing Competitions and even school-based magazine, Sparkle. Over the years the standard of writing has surpasse all expectations. The winner of the Inter-house Creative Writing Competition for the academic year 2009-2010 are :-
