Students from class V – XII participated in painting and collage competition and Liberty house won.

n keeping with the above saying, Karukrit, has been nurturing morethan 80 students on its list with a firm aim to “carry the picture” in their head.
 

Aims and Objectives: 

·               The aim of the club is to give the students frequent opportunities to reveal themselves in a healthy and warm competitive spirit, essential for the all round development of the students.

·               The club aims at bringing out the hidden creative and innovative ideas in colourful, playful and productive ways.

·               To give exposure to students about Fine Arts and Commercial Arts so that they are encouraged to take it up as a career.

Ø              Classes VII – VIII – Water Colours

Junior School:
 

Ø      Craft articles made with use of pulses, egg     shells, paper bits, pencil chips, coloured rags, thermocol balls, buttons, cotton balls and ice-cream sticks.

Ø              Fabric painting

Ø              Clay modelling

Ø              Collage work

Ø              Candle making

Ø              Rangoli
 

          Middle and Senior Section:
 

Ø             Painting, spray painting, blow painting, pot painting

Ø             Thread and thumb impression

Ø            Wax and clay model makings, block model making

Ø             Card making, wall hanging, Origami

Ø             Flower making, bouquet, artificial party hats, face masks, tie and dye

Ø              Ribbon weaving

Ø             Collage, paper mosaic, and making innovative objects out of waste items are also taught

Ø             Making masks and background props for the Annual Concert and Inter-House Drama Competitions

 

Workshops:

 

Ø             Workshops conducted by “Camlin Company” held the month of September, 2007.

Ø              Drawing competition conducted by ITC Classmate.

 

Inter-School Achievements:

·               Won 3rd prize at “Horlicks Wiz Kids” Painting Competition held at Don Bosco, Park Circus.

·               Kishan Bhowmick bagged the 2nd prize in the All West Bengal Poster Painting Competition.

·               Won 2nd prize at “Horlicks Wiz Kids” Collage Competition held at Don Bosco, Park Circus.

·               Won 1st prize in Poster Painting organized by Kolkata Police in collaboration with Social Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal.

 

ART’N’CRAFT EXHIBITION:

 

Every year the Art Club, Karukrit organizes an Art and Craft Exhibition just before the Summer Vacation. Last year the Art and Craft Exhibition were held on 21st September. Each class from standard III to XII participated with full interest and enthusiasm.


They were allotted a table each for their display. Craft work included Pot Painting, Glass Painting, Decorative Pen Stands, Gift Boxes, Greeting Cards, Face Masks, Wall Hanging, Tribal Framework, Eggshell Models, Wax Models, Clay Models, Puppets of birds and animals, and countless number of drawings, paintings, and collage.

 

Parents were invited over a period of three days to view the exhibition and appreciated the talents of their children.

 

A unique feature of the Art and Craft Exhibition was students giving live demonstrations of various artifacts being made. Children and parents stood rapt gazing at the art of Origami, Mask Making and waste material turning into beautiful works of art.
